
SEATTLE, Sept. 22 -- President Xi Jinping has been given a welcome banquet in Seattle, attended by business leaders and other dignitaries.
In his speech, the President thanked all the communities that helped build and develop China-US relations.
He also recounted the changes in Xiao Jiahe village in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, where he spent 7 years.
He said the changes in that village reflect the huge progress China has made in terms of economic development.
He pointed out that economic development is China's top priority and the government will do everything it can to enhance the livelihood of ordinary Chinese.
The dinner was hosted by the National Committee on China-US Relations and the US-China Business Council, and cooperated by China General Chamber of Commerce-U.S.A. and other organizations.
Washington Governor Jay Inslee reviewed the milestone events shaping the relations between Seattle and China. Speeches were also made by US Secretary of Commerce, former US secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and business leaders.
More than 20 representatives from CGCC attended this reception and dinner.
