
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC) welcomed over 80 member company representatives to the China Construction Bank New York Branch in Manhattan for a vibrant and inspiring end-of-year celebration. As part of the CGCC Women’s Leadership Series, the event spotlighted the remarkable achievements of women leaders within the CGCC community, fostering a spirit of empowerment and reflection.

Emceed by CGCC Executive Director Yuan Qu, the event brought together an impressive group of female C-suite executives to reflect on the challenges, milestones, and triumphs of the past year. It offered attendees valuable insights on topics such as work-life balance, career growth, and leadership.
Jianbo Sun, CGCC Vice-Chair and General Manager of the China Construction Bank New York Branch, opened the event with remarks.

Longtime CGCC members and friends Shau Zhang, Partner and Americas Leader of Chinese Overseas Investment at EY, and Kate Barton, Dentons Global CEO, Independent Board Member, Retired EY Global Executive, Transformational Leader, and Philanthropist offered candid reflections on their professional evolution, emphasizing the critical roles of advocacy, mentorship, and adaptability in achieving success during the dialogue “Reinventing Yourself: Leveraging Past Successes in New Ventures.”

The afternoon also featured an engaging panel discussion titled “Leading with Purpose: Overcoming Challenges and Shaping Your Own Path.” Moderated by Xue Luo, Director of Project Management at CGCC, the panel spotlighted Catherine X. Pan-Giordano, Partner and Management Committee Member at Dorsey & Whitney LLP, and Pamela Passman, Global Chair of Corporate Advisory and Managing Director of APCO’s New York Office. Throughout the discussion, the panelists shared reflections on their journeys to leadership, offering attendees valuable insights and inspiration drawn from their firsthand experiences.

The event concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from Xin Zhang, Executive Vice President of CGTN America & CCTV UN. Drawing from her extensive experience at the forefront of the news industry, she shared profound insights on the intersection of personal and global events that have shaped her perspectives.
