
On August 4th, 2023, CGCC and member companies representatives attended the "2023 China Hainan Night" in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Organized by the Hainan Provincial People's Government and held in conjunction with the U.S. trip of a delegation from Hainan, the event enabled participants to learn more about the Hainan Free Trade Port and discuss potential cultural, economic, and tourism cooperation opportunities between Hainan and Hawaii.

More than 120 guests, including business and government leaders from the U.S. and China, attended the event.

The event featured the following speakers: Huaiyu CHEN, Deputy Governor of the Hainan Provincial People's Government; Sylvia Luke, Lieutenant Governor of the State of Hawaii; Yuanqiang SHI, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles; Wei HU, Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce-USA, President & CEO of Bank of China U.S.A; and Cheng LIU, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism and Culture of Hainan Province.

In addition to the speaking program, the event organizers set up a "Hainan Tourism Local Style Fair" onsite to showcase Hainan's tourism specialties and cultural products as well as a fashion show that featured traditional costumes of the Li people, an ethnic group native to Hainan.
