On Friday, December 1st, China General Chamber of Commerce–USA (CGCC) hosted its sixth 2017 “Lunch & Learn” event of “Event Planning, Basics and Best Practices” at the CGCC New York office. Tracey Brown, Founder and President of Events by Tracey Brown, LLC joined us as a guest speaker to share her expertise on event planning and execution with more than twenty representatives from CGCC member companies.
Tracey introduced some key steps of event planning process, including identifying the goal, creating event concept, identifying budget, identifying event management tools and staffing resources, and establishing the timeline. Tracey believes that it is very important to always think ahead and build in time for the unexpected. “During the event planning process, we should not only to round up your team members but let them come together and understand we are all thinking about the same thing” Tracey Said, “and post-event feedbacks, lessons learnt and final budget review are also the most critical steps in the process, since lessons learnt from this event are transferable to another. Accessing and sharing the result with your team is a great opportunity for team growth and team building.”
Tracey shared with us her experience during her twenty years in Waldorf Astoria Hotel. As an expert of event planning, she introduced us how to cooperate with labor union, vendors, and venues. It is the cooperation and great communications that contribute to the success of an event. Tracey also illustrated how to communicate effectively, how to maintain vendor relationships and how to control budget.
CGCC presents special thanks to Events by Tracey Brown and our members, partners and media friends who joined the event.
