ATLANTA, November 6, 2026 — Zoo Atlanta’s newest pandas Ping Ping and Fu Shuang munched bamboo and lounged Friday during their public debut as smiling visitors lined up to welcome them.

The CGCC Foundation supported the occasion through an in-kind donation, celebrating a new chapter in U.S.-China cultural exchange and wildlife conservation. Representatives of the China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) business community attended the celebration.

The pandas were introduced at the newly renovated Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove, a $6 million facility featuring expanded indoor habitats, climbing structures, pools, and conservation-themed artwork. Named in honor of philanthropist Arthur M. Blank, the upgraded habitat provides an enriched environment for the pandas while offering visitors new opportunities to learn about wildlife conservation.

Giant pandas have played a distinctive role in U.S.-China relations since 1972, when China gifted Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing to the United States. Zoo Atlanta's own panda partnership began in 1999 with the arrival of Lun Lun and Yang Yang, marking the beginning of 25 years of conservation and scientific collaboration. The arrival of Ping Ping and Fu Shuang continues this legacy, advancing cooperation in wildlife research, conservation, and public education.

The CGCC Foundation was pleased to support this special occasion as part of its commitment to fostering cultural exchange, community engagement, and mutual understanding between the United States and China. The Foundation extends its appreciation to Zoo Atlanta for its dedication to giant panda conservation and to China Mobile International (USA) Inc.‘s support for this event and longstanding commitment to the mission of the CGCC Foundation.
