On October 12th, China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC), CGCC Foundation, and Hongkun USA Real Estate Development LLC (Hongkun) co-hosted “2019 The First Hongkun Cup Badminton Invitational” at Life Time Athletic at Sky in Midtown, Manhattan. About 50 contestants from 11 different CGCC member companies and partners came together for an exciting day of friendly competition and sportsmanship. 

CGCC was honored to invite Gu Chunfang, the Economic & Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York to join the event and give brief opening remarks.

The competition included four categories: Mixed Doubles, a Team Competition, Women’s Singles, and Men’s Singles.

In the Mixed Doubles competition, the team from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York were crowned champions. The team from HNA Group received the runner-up award.

HNA Group received the runner-up award in the Mixed Doubles event from Jinjun Peng (Right), Executive Vice President of Bank of China USA.

In the Team Competition, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York won the title. The team from Bank of China USA received the runner-up award.

A player from China Merchants Bank (NY Branch) won the Women’s Singles competition title, while a player from Bank of China USA  received the runner-up award.

In the Men’s Singles competition, a player from China Merchants Bank NY Branch claimed the title, while a player from the Agricultural Bank of China (New York) received the runner-up award.

2019 marks the first year CGCC and Hongkun organized and co-hosted the Hongkun Cup Badminton Invitational. The Hongkun Cup Badminton Invitational serves as a special opportunity for Chinese enterprises and relevant organizations to network, build friendships, and promote a healthy lifestyle through the sport of Badminton.
