CGCC Congratulates Charlie Jiang, Chairman and CEO of China-U.S. SkyClub on Winning “U.S.-China Business Leadership Award” featured image

On November 15, at the 22nd Gala Dinner held by The U.S.-China Policy Foundation in Washington DC, Charlie Jiang, Vice Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC) and Chairman and CEO of China-U.S. SkyClub, was honored “U.S.-China Business Leadership Award” for his accomplishments and contributions in China-U.S. business and cultural exchanges.

The China-U.S. SkyClub, on the 89th floor of One World Trade Center, was established in 2016, with a mission to provide a platform for high-level dialogue and a place where business ambitions are synergized, by connecting decision-makers across the United States and China.

Since December 2016, under Charlie's leadership, the China-U.S. SkyClub has sponsored the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (the National Committee) in hosting several influential events, including Leaders Speak: Secretaries of State, Leaders Speak: Treasury Secretaries, Leaders Speak: Business Leaders, which were attended by Former Secretaries of State Dr. Madeleine Albright and Dr. Henry Kissinger, Former U.S. Secretaries of the Treasury Jacob Lew, Timothy Geithner, Robert Rubin, W. Michael Blumenthal, and many other prominent U.S.-China business leaders. Moreover, The China-U.S. SkyClub Dialogue, initiated by Charlie, has successfully brought policy makers, investors, business leaders together to foster partnership in U.S. infrastructure development and investment.Charlie is also committed to promoting Chinese traditional culture and U.S.-China cultural exchange through the China-U.S. SkyClub. This September, he personally assisted the National Committee in facilitating a group of U.S. Congressmen to visit the Forbidden City in Beijing, introducing the time-honored Chinese culture to America through the presentation of Chinese paintings A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains and Penta-Bull Map.

Charlie is very optimistic about the prospects of China-U.S. relationship. “I can see the chemistry and trust between President Xi and President Trump, something very assuring to our business community,” Charlie said, “I believe the relations between China and the U.S. will enter a new era after the 19th Congress.”

Other honorees this year include the Honorable Max Baucus, former U.S. Ambassador to China; His Excellency Cui Tiankai, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S.; and Ms. Stella Li, Board Director of CGCC and President of BYD Motors. Every year, the U.S.-China Policy Foundation honors exceptional individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion and studies of China-U.S. relations and has been broadly covered by major U.S. and Chinese media in the United States. Previous awardees include Ban Ki-moon, former United Nations Secretary-General, and Elaine L. Chao, U.S. Transport Secretary, etc.

The China-U.S. SkyClub

The China-U.S. SkyClub, on the 89th floor of One World Trade Center, will officially open in the spring of 2018 as a private business club to promote Sino-U.S. synergy. Based on the belief that greater harmony and understanding between countries begin with their people, the club will be a gathering place where Chinese and American leaders can spur interactive dialogues, break international barriers, explore new worlds, and generate strategic collaborations.

Founded by China Center New York, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vantone Holdings in China, and operated by the club-management company Clubcorp, the China-US SkyClub aims to provide the ideal environment for decision makers to engage in high-level business, political, and cultural activities. With inspiring and expansive city views and cutting-edge facilities, the venture’s creators hope the club will lift the relationship between the two countries to new heights and exert a positive impact on the world.

China General Chamber of Commerce-USA
