Since the start of the Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, hospitals throughout the city have been facing a shortage of face masks and crucial medical supplies. To support doctors battling at the frontlines of the deadly virus outbreak, China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) Foundation has appropriated $30,000 to purchase surgical-grade masks and other essential medical supplies to donate to hospitals in Wuhan as part of its ongoing Wuhan Medical Supply Donation Effort.
CGCC and CGCC Foundation sincerely thanks its member company SF Express, China Southern Airlines, and Hainan Airlines for sponsoring international transportation.
Donation Effort Update:
As of February 9th, 2020 at 18:00 pm EST (February 10th, 7:00 am Beijing time), CGCC Foundation has raised a total of $129,604.35 (about ¥907437.82, exchange rate 7.00. These include $30,000 from CGCC Foundation, $77,300 donation, and $22,304.35 equivalent of supply donation)
The total value of supplies raised by CGCC-Los Angeles is $18,969.05 (about ¥132813.70, exchange rate 7.00), a total of 14,601 pieces.
The total amount raised by CGCC-Houston is $76,000.00 (about ¥532121.60, exchange rate 7.00).
Donation Effort Progress Timeline Update:
January 23rd – CGCC Foundation started its Wuhan Medical Supply Donation Effort, welcoming its member companies to donate urgently needed medical supplies.
January 31st – The first batch of donated medical supplies left CGCC’s office in New York for Wuhan via CGCC member company SF Express
February 1st – New York supplies cleared customs. Los Angeles supplies were sent to China via China Southern Airlines.
February 2nd – New York supplies took off.
February 3rd – New York supplies landed in Guangzhou, waiting for customs clearance. Los Angeles supplies landed in Guangzhou.
February 5th – New York supplies cleared customs and sent for Wuhan.
February 6th – New York supplies arrived in Wuhan and sent for two hospitals.
February 7th – The first batch of medical supplies successfully reached Wuhan No.1 Hospital (武汉市第一医院) and China Resources & WISCO General Hospital (华润武钢总医院)
February 10th – The first batch of Los Angeles supplies arrived in Wuhan. The second batch of medical supplies sent out from Los Angeles for Wuhan.
Until February 14th – CGCC is collecting medical supplies for the third batch of donations

HOW TO JOIN THE DONATION EFFORT
Q: How can I or my company take part in CGCC’s Wuhan Medical Supply Donation Effort?
A: CGCC Foundation is currently accepting new disposable medical masks, goggles, and other medical supplies that meet the following requirements:
1. Medical Protective Mask: 3M N95 9132 and/or 1860
2. Medical Surgical Mask: ASTM F2100-ii level 2 and/or level 3
3. Disposable Medical Mask: ASTM F2100-ii level 2 and/or level 3
4. Medical Disposable Gloves: Powder-free (Surgical Glove size 6.5,7,7.5)
5. Medical Isolation Suit: Certified for prevention of viral transmission
6. Medical Goggle: Splash-proof, indirect and/or non vented, anti-fog, transparent
