On February 10th, 2023, CGCC Chairman and President & CEO of Bank of China U.S.A., Wei HU, participated in a live panel discussion titled “Kick-Start 2023: BizTalk -China's economy leveling up.” During the discussion, which was broadcast across CGTN’s global platforms, Mr. Hu emphasized the importance of the U.S.-China trade and investment relationship despite some tensions throughout the past couple of years.

“Trade between the two countries continues to show steady growth. As of 2022, China is the third largest trading partner to the States, and also the U.S. is the third largest trading partner for China. We see enormous technological advances in green energy, health care, agriculture, and telecommunications, which were all realized through the collaboration between the two sides over the past 40 years,” said Mr. Hu.
As Chairman of the largest and most impactful independent, non-partisan, non-governmental chamber of commerce connecting Chinese and American enterprises, Mr. Hu provided the following recommendations for Chinese companies looking for investment opportunities in the U.S.
-Be prepared and well-informed, working with fellow companies and service providers for risk planning.
-Stay updated on the latest developments and regulations related to business and industry between the two sides.
-Maintain compliance as a top priority.
-Stay local while building synergies throughout the global network.
-Be proactive in building your strong brand in the local market.
