44 CGCC Member Companies Ranked in the 2022 Fortune Global 500

On August 3rd, 2022, the Fortune Global 500 List was officially published. Spanning industries from energy, chemical, construction, manufacturing, aviation, real estate, finance, telecommunication, and information technology, 44 CGCC (China General Chamber of Commerce-USA) members and their parent companies were honored to receive positions on the list this year. At the same time, 55 member companies were included on the Fortune China 500 List. CGCC sincerely congratulates all its members and their parent companies for achieving such incredible accomplishments during another year full of challenges.

Among them, the companies that rose by more than 100 positions were SINOCHEM Group and China Cosco Shipping.

The member companies included on the Fortune 500 list for the first time are FedEx, BYD Company, SF Express, and Delta Air Lines.

The companies that have risen on the 500 list are China State Construction Engineering, China Construction of Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, China Baowu Steel Group, JD.com, China Minerals, China Communications Construction, China National Offshore Oil, COFCO, CITIC Group, Tencent Group, Greenland Holding Group, Country Garden Holdings, STATE Power Investment, Shanghai Construction Group, and COCA-COLA.

This year, the combined operating income of the companies on the 2022 Fortune Global 500 list is 37.8 trillion U.S. dollars, a 19.2% rise from last year’s. This was the biggest yearly increase in the history of the list. This combined operating income makes up 40% of the world’s total annual GDP or approximately the combined GDP of the United States and China.

Walmart is the world’s largest company for the ninth year in a row. Amazon has risen to take on the number two position. The State Grid Corporation of China is the third largest company in the world. PetroChina and Sinopec are third and fourth on the list, respectively. Overall, the 2022 Fortune Global 500 List contains more Chinese companies on a far greater scale.

Again, CGCC congratulates all the member companies listed in the 2022 Fortune Global 500. CGCC will continue providing comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality service to its members, creating value, generating economic growth, and enhancing cooperation between the U.S. and Chinese business communities.
