On December 18th, 2020, China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) and CGCC Foundation participated in Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s annual holiday toy, coat, and school supply drive, bringing happiness and spreading holiday cheer to children across New York State in these difficult times.
2020 marks the fourth year in a row that CGCC and CGCC Foundation participated in this heartwarming initiative. This year, CGCC contributed more than 420 new toys to the drive.
Together, with the generous help from friends, CGCC team members hand-delivered hundreds of toys to the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, for distribution to families in underserved communities throughout New York State.
During his televised COVID-19 briefing on December 23rd, Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed his gratitude to CGCC for its donation, “We want to thank Walmart and the China General Chamber of Commerce and literally the hundreds of New Yorkers who donated toys.”
CGCC sincerely thanks CGCC members for their long-term support of this initiative as well as the Office of the Governor (NY) for inviting CGCC to take part in the drive.
CGCC and CGCC Foundation will continue to give back to the local community and help Chinese enterprises in the U.S. to better fulfill corporate social responsibility through charity programs.
