Established in November 2000 and headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, China Telecom (Americas) is the largest international subsidiary of China Telecom Corporation Limited. It’s the starting point and a crucial part of the global expansion of one of China’s largest state-owned telecommunications service providers.
After more than a decade of development, China Telecom (Americas) now serves four customer groups: Chinese companies “going global,” multinational companies, carrier partners and individual Chinese customers, with more than 200 employees in more than 10 cities in the US, Canada, and Brazil.
Steven Tan Xu, President of China Telecom (Americas) Corporation, shares his outlook on the company and the role it plays in the American market. As a major Chinese state-owned company abroad, he also discusses the responsibility it has to serve Chinese communities here in the US and to build cultural and business bridges between the nations.
