President Yuan's Speech:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good evening!
I’m honored to be here today among such distinguished guests. To our friends at China Daily, thank you for having me here tonight.
The China General Chamber of Commerce
– USA, or CGCC-USA, is pleased to partner with China Daily in hosting today’s event, “The Launching Reception for The Year of China’s Enterprises in the United States.”
CGCC-USA is always delighted to be involved in events which promote
Sino-U.S. business including the one we are having tonight. A few weeks ago, when Mr. Li Ge came to my office to talk about this program, CGCC-USA had just successfully hosted its first annual conference themed on Win-Win Cooperation.
In my meeting with Mr. Li, I explained how China Construction America overcame growing pain, developing from an office with only 12 employees to a company of more than 900 people, and how we were able to create thousands of jobs for the local market in this recession.
Mr. Li said China State, CCA’s parent company, is a world-renowned company, but it is still unfamiliar to most people in terms of its operations in the U.S. and its contributions to both economies. We both felt responsible for helping the U.S. society understand the true stories of Chinese companies in the U.S., and “The Year of China’s Enterprises in the United States” would be a great starting point.
As a non-profit, non-governmental organization,
CGCC-USA diligently serves as a bridge to promote the development of Sino-American economic and trade relationship and explore new business opportunities for both business communities. We have made significant achievements through our efforts in all these years; however, there is still a long way to go.
The China Daily has decided to declare 2012 the “Year of China’s Enterprises in the United States” given the progress made by Chinese enterprises in the U.S. and more importantly the potential for further development. Both CGCC-USA and China Daily
will continue our commitment of creating an ongoing dialogue about the experiences and needs of Chinese enterprises developing their business in the U.S. We are looking forward to what this coming new year will bring to Chinese enterprises in America.
On behalf of CGCC-USA and its member companies, I would like to thank China Daily for recognizing the presence and contributions of Chinese enterprises in the U.S.
CGCC-USA will work hard to continue the positive Sino-American business relationship we have thus far enjoyed.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I invite you to join us this coming year in celebrating and pursuing the continued development of U.S.-China business
relationship and I thank you for attending this reception.
Thank you and Happy Holidays.
