
CGCC Co-hosts Book Signing for Ambassador Chas W. Freeman Jr.
Keynote speaker Ambassador Chas W. Freeman, Jr. spoke about the prospects of deepening interdependence between China and the US. He stressed China’s remarkable progress over the past few decades and the need to better manage the inevitable frictions that arise from shifting balances in the US–China relationship.
Ambassador Freeman spent 30 years in the Foreign Service, served on the Advisory Board of China National Offshore Oil Company and worked as the principal interpreter during President Richard Nixon’s historical trip to China in 1972.
Former New York State Governor George Pataki delivered the opening remarks at event and welcomed the attendees. As the Counsel at the firm, Governor Pataki also introduced the history of cooperation and commitment of Chadbourne to Chinese companies. Ms. Louis Gong, the Head of China Practice of the firm spoke on the current investment climate for Chinese investors in the US.
The event attracted more than 110 guests attended. Representatives from CGCC member companies including Bank of China New York Branch, China Telecom Americas, People's Bank of China Representative Office for Americas, China Center, Cathay Bank, Jun He Law Office, Deheng Chen LLC, Beauty Crown Capital, F&T Group, USWTV, Eisner Amper and Cushman Wakefield, etc. joined this event.
