CGCC Co-hosts Dinner for Vice Premier Wang Yang and State Councilor Yang Jiechi

July 11, 2013 -- CGCC co-hosted the dinner in honor of Vice Premier Wang Yang, State Councilor Yang Jiechi and the ministerial delegation from China to the fifth round of Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) in Washington, D.C. with National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, U.S. China Business Council and other major U.S. organizations.
Some of the board members of CGCC attended the dinner along with other guests from U.S. businesses and organizations. CGCC President Yuan Ning joined the head table as one of the VIPs sitting with the Chinese delegation and U.S. officials.
During the dinner, Vice Premier Wang addressed in his speech that, while China and U.S. are in the different stages of development, enhancing the mutual understanding and respect between two sides had been the key to the win-win cooperation. Vice Premier Wang also concluded the fifth round of S&ED as fruitful as achieved 91 outcomes together and in which both sides had laid a good foundation of future collaboration. State Councilor Yang emphasized in his speech that building the new type of major power relationship between China and U.S. needed not only the vision, wisdom and determination but also the real practical actions.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack also spoke at the dinner. Both had addressed that the China-U.S. relations had become increasingly closer and the two sides should strengthen dialogue, enhance mutual understanding, trust and cooperation.
