CGCC Chairman Chen Xu attends the “Inauguration Ceremony of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management North America Alumni Association Eastern US Chapter.”
April 19, 2015, the Inauguration of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management North America Alumni Association Eastern US Chapter took place in New York. Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce – U.S.A (CGCC), President & CEO of Bank of China USA Chen Xu attended the event as guest speaker, and was appointed the vice chairman.
There were totally 180 influential guests participated in this event. This includes Dean of SEM of Tsinghua University, renowned economist, State Department Counselor Yingyi Qian, Director of Alumni Office of SEM of Tsinghua University Haitao Wang, Chairman of SEM of Tsinghua University North America Alumni Association, Vice Chairman of China Fortune Land Development LTD Shaozeng Guo, Chairman of SEM of Tsinghua University Alumni Association Eastern America Chapter, Managing Director of Moody’s Department of Structured Financing Jian Hu, Secretary of SEM of Tsinghua University Alumni Association North America Chapter, General Manager of Sino Environmental Engineering Development Co. Opening remarks were given by both Dean of SEM of Tsinghua University Yingyi Qian, and the first Chairman of SEM of Tsinghua University Alumni Association Eastern America Chapter Jian Hu, followed by the first part of the interactive forum focusing on the successful experiences and stories of Tsinghua’s graduates in Wall Street.
The second part touched the topics including current opportunities and challenges of China-U.S. economic and finance cooperation. Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce – U.S.A (CGCC), President & CEO of Bank of China USA Chen Xu, Vice Chairman of Tsinghua Entrepreneur & Executive Club; Chairman of SEM North America Alumni Association Eastern US, Managing Partner of Knights Investment Group (KIG), Hongfei Zhang; Senior Managing director of AIG, celebrated Quant Expert David Li collectively shared their successful stories and personality in the finance industry. They discussed some remarkable challenges of Chinese investor in the United States. Specifically, they addressed the negative impact to investment from lacking communications among supervising institutions and lacking coordination among investors.
