On Thursday, August 7th, 2025, the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA Foundation (CGCC Foundation), with support from CGCC member company China Eastern Airlines, hosted a special after-hours guided tour of Recasting the Past: The Art of Chinese Bronzes, 1100–1900 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Led by Pengliang Lu, Brooke Russell Astor Curator of Chinese Art at the museum, the tour offered CGCC guests an in-depth look at the exhibition’s themes and highlights.

Organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum, the exhibition is on view through September 28. It features Chinese bronzes from the 12th to 19th centuries alongside paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, lacquers, and jades. With approximately 200 works from international collections, the exhibition traces the evolving role of bronze as an art form throughout Chinese history. CGCC member China Eastern Airlines provided transportation support for the exhibition’s artifacts.

Special thanks to Ms. Janice Ji, Mr. Lu, China Eastern Airlines, and The Met for making this event possible.
