On April 16th, 2020, more than 100 community and business leaders joined the latest installment of the CGCC E-Connects Series - a webinar titled “How to Protect Asian Businesses and Communities from Discrimination and Hate during COVID-19”.
The webinar convened a panel of distinguished experts to
 discuss the data and causes behind the prejudice, aggression and hate crimes
 against Asian communities and businesses in the U.S. since the outbreak of the
 coronavirus, as well as resources for protection and aid. The panelists
 answered questions from different audience members tuning in from all across
 the U.S., covering topics ranging from political discourse, interaction with
 law enforcement, and the responsibility of schools and educators to stand up
 against the hate.
The panel included Dr. Russell Jeung, Chair and
 Professor of Asian American Studies at SF State University, Officer Se Chao
 of the Port Authority Police Department and the President of PAPD Asian Jade
 Society, Karen R. King, Counsel at Paul, Weiss and Vice-Chair of the
 Pro-Bono Committee for the Asian American Bar Association of New York and Luis
 E. Borunda, Deputy Secretary of State of Maryland.
