

NEW YORK, May 13th, 2020 - During his New York City Coronavirus Briefing, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio recognized China General Chamber of Commerce-U.S.A. (CGCC) for its donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to New York’s frontline workers.
In his remarks of thanks, Mayor de Blasio commended CGCC’s recent donation efforts to New York City, announcing “the China General Chamber of Commerce has provided 100,000 surgical masks.”
“All of these organizations, businesses, institutions, [are] doing something so great to protect people in New York City, particularly to protect those who serve all of us, and protect all of us,” said Mayor de Blasio.
CGCC’s donation of 100,000 surgical masks to New York City is part of the chamber’s larger ongoing U.S. Medical Supply Donation and Information Sharing Effort. As of May 13th, CGCC and CGCC Foundation, together with its regional chapters and member companies, have donated 3,740,494 pieces of personal protective equipment to more than 50 hospitals and clinics, and more than 20 government agencies in 21 states across the U.S.
CGCC remains committed to continuing to support first responders, frontline workers, and the local community in the fight against COVID-19.
