300 senior executives, government officials, and thought leaders gather at landmark Gala honoring the U.S.-China business communities

New York, NY - On February 11th, 2025, the China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) and CGCC Foundation celebrated their milestone 20th Anniversary with a grand Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York. Under the theme "Building Connections and Creating Opportunities," the celebration commemorated two decades of CGCC's unwavering commitment to strengthening cooperation and expanding opportunities between the U.S. and Chinese business communities. The evening paid special tribute to CGCC member companies and partners for their lasting financial, social, and cultural contributions to the CGCC community, which have been instrumental in shaping its journey over the past two decades.

Wei HU, Chairman of CGCC and President and CEO of Bank of China U.S.A., delivered opening remarks reflecting on the gala theme and CGCC’s mission. “Our commitment to creating value, driving economic growth, and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation has never wavered. The theme of this evening, ‘Building Connections, Creating Opportunities,’ captures the true essence of our mission and the shared aspirations that unite us,” Mr. HU said. 


XIE Feng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The People's Republic of China to the United States of America

Ambassador XIE Feng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The People's Republic of China to the United States of America delivered a keynote speech expressing optimism and confidence in the future of the bilateral economic relationship while recognizing CGCC’s significant contributions to its positive development and future, “ At this new starting point, we need more than ever to demonstrate entrepreneurship, place new paths forward, fight to win, stay confident and assured, unleash vitality and advance in a stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US Economic Relations.”

"I count on the CGCC to continue to advance, to advocate for Chinese enterprises in the United States, build more bridges for bilateral economic cooperation, and make greater contributions to a new chapter of Win-Win cooperation between China and the United States in the next 20 years,” said Ambassador XIE.

The gala program featured a special "Twenty for Twenty" Recognition Ceremony to honor CGCC's remarkable twenty-year journey—made possible by its dedicated member companies and partners. During the ceremony, distinguished CGCC member companies and partners were invited to the stage for acknowledgments and to extend New Year greetings to the guests.

CGCC Gala Alumnus and long-time supporter Michael R. Bloomberg, Founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies and three-term Mayor of New York City delivered remarks via video

Michael R. Bloomberg, Founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies and three-term Mayor of New York City, delivered a special video message congratulating CGCC on its 20th anniversary. In the video, Mr. Bloomberg praised CGCC's tireless efforts in promoting U.S.-China trade cooperation and emphasized its indispensable role in fostering healthy bilateral relations. He expressed gratitude to the attending companies for their contributions to trade, security, and climate change, and reaffirmed Bloomberg's commitment to connecting China with global financial markets.
