Statement on the Politicization of Chinese Investments in the U.S.

China General Chamber of Commerce –
USA (CGCC) recently has noticed the trend of abusing the concept of national
security in the U.S., and the politicization of business targeting Chinese investments.

Our Business Survey on Chinese Enterprises in the U.S. observed the trend that for Chinese business, the general investment/business environment in the United States moderately worsened in 2019 compared to the year before. The report also showed concerns about the growing uncertainties the market bears and the potential fluctuations of economic policies towards international investments.

As the largest non-profit organization
representing Chinese investments in the U.S., we urge a more stable, cooperative
commercial environment, which is essential during this difficult time and to
the world economy. And we encourage all our Chinese corporate members to
operate in accordance with the laws in the U.S. and in full compliance as
always.

We will continue to monitor closely
on such issues and solicit feedback from our members, and work hard to fulfill
our mission: to create value, generate economic growth, and enhance cooperation
between the U.S. and Chinese business communities.
