Sany America Names New Chairman
Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Sany America Inc. has named industry veteran Tim Frank as its new chairman.
Mr. Frank's appointment comes on the heels of significant moves to restructure Sany's global operations, including shifting the product focus at its $60 million Peachtree City plant from concrete pumping equipment to cranes.
Before coming to Georgia, Mr. Frank spent time consulting in Shanghai for Sany Group, the parent company.
An industry veteran, he previously served as a vice president for Volvo Construction Equipment, where he led the excavator division. He has also held sales positions at both CNH Global and Caterpillar Inc.
Mr. Frank aims to help boost the Chinese giant's profile in the Western Hemisphere.
“As I have grown to know Sany, it became obvious that something special was happening in this company. I am so excited to be a part of it," Mr. Frank said in a statement. "Construction contractors in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America will soon come to know Sany America for helping them get the job done in a competitive economy.”
Peachtree City is vital to the company's operations in the Americas, especially in developing cranes customized for the United States and other markets.
