On November 11, 2017, Chang'an Automobile Group Co., Ltd, one of the top four companies in China’s automobile industry, successfully held a career fair at in Silicon Valley for the first time. This event WAS sponsored by Liepin North America and took place at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Jose.
Approximately two hundred attendees participated this event. Influential community leaders and higher officials from both countries were invited to attend as honorable guests, including the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco Yuhong Jiang, Cuibinino City governor Zhaofu Zhang, President of Chinese American Semiconductor Association Bingda Wang, Vice President Qiwei Hua, Consultant Junzhao Lei, Director Weixing Chen and Tianhua Zhang, Vice President of Silicon Valley Chinese Association of Automotive Engineers Yayong Liu, Senior Secretary Xu Gao, Board Director of CAST Silicon Valley Branch Na Yu, Fan Wang, Vice President of the Chinese American Information Storage Society (CAISS) , and Xianwei Li, representative of Tianjin University Alumni Association.
As a leader of China's auto brand industry, Changan Automobile has always striven to develop world-class technology and products. Its technological innovation abilities have been ranked No. 1 in China’s automotive industry for eight consecutive years. This career fair aims to recruit various positions including new energy development, IT, vehicle development, power development, design and management. The higher management team of Changan Group and Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. came to the event to show their supports the urgent needs for high-quality candidates.
The conference was led by Tian Qin, human resources director of Changan Automobile. At the beginning of the conference, Jiang Yuhong, consul of science and technology of Consulate General of San Francisco, Bingda Wang, president of Chinese American Semiconductor Association, and Xu Gao, senior secretary of Silicon Valley Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers respectively gave their opening remarks. Next, the executive director of the human resources department Aiqun Jiang gave the audience an overall introduction of the Chan’an group. He presented Chang'an Automobile group’s following advantages: 155 years long history, 34 years of automobiles production accumulation, 16 production sites worldwide, 35 vehicle and engine factories, 10 key foreign markets. He also reported 2016 to 2017 Chanan group’s sales performance from January to August. The company has reached a total of 1,796,000 sales. He emphasized that Changan Automobile will holistically come up with training programs and offer interns further opportunities and career promotions. The goal is to reach the cutting-edge level and build a world-class automobile enterprise. This first career fair event, co-organized by Liepin North America, is an excellent opportunity to speed up international talent recruitment.
Following is a seminar on the topic of innovation and research led by Wei Liang, vice president of Chang'an Automobile New Energy Research Institute. He said that Changan Automobile has over 11,000 specialists (including nearly 500 senior experts) from 17 countries around the world, and they have established research institutes at Chongqing, Beijing, Hebei, Hefei, Turin, Italy, Yokohama, Japan, Birmingham, United Kingdom, Detroit and Silicon Valley with different focuses but collaboratively connected with each other.
Other representatives of the Changan group include zhiwei, Zhong, the executive director of Chanan’s innovation and research center in the U.S. and Wen He, vice president of Changan IT Research Institute, etc. They were also in charge of some interviews at the event. They actively talked with participants and answered questions. This event has an overall very interactive and lively atmosphere. Event organizers also prepared raffle tickets and prizes to add some fun elements.
The representative of Liepin North America was very proud of the ability and efficiency of Liepin North America to organize career-related events. He said: it only took them three months to successfully implement this project. To finish an event from scratch in such a short frame of time became one of the milestones. The other milestone is the unprecedented accomplishment to host a top job fair in the largest and finest conference place in Silicon Valley. He addressed special thanks to the strong support of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco, the local governments of the United States and a variety of Chinese associations. The event was a huge success, the number and quality of both Chinese and foreign attendees exceeded the previous record.
