International Vitamin Corporation Awarded for Contribution to NJ
On October 16th, the International Vitamin Corporation (IVC), one of CGCC's members, received the Award of Excellence from New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) for its contribution to the economy growth in the Garden State. The Secretary General, Mr. Richard Huang, attended the awards presenting ceremony at Pines Manor in Edison, NJ.
IVC was awarded with the yearly Business Expansion Award, which is "presented to companies that have contributed to the State's Economic growth through sales growth, productivity enhancements and/or the new creation of new jobs.", noticed by the NJBIA.
IVC began as American Vitamin Products in 1955 and expanded to its current Freehold, New Jersey headquarters in 1988. American Vitamin Products merged with International Vitamin Company in 1995 before being acquired by Inverness Medical Innovations in 2002. In January 2010, Inverness Medical Innovations sold off its assets, and its nutritional supplement segments, which included International Vitamin Company and Inverness Medical Nutritionals, to a Chinese investor, and became International Vitamin Corporation.
Since 2010, managed by Chinese executives, and import chemical powders from China, IVC has improved its position within the private-label vitamin industry to number two from number five. The company created over 80 new jobs over the period, and brought its employment in New Jersey to more than 360 employees. It has also doubled its sales revenue. Recently, the company has been selling vitamin, OTC and RX-related brand and custom products to the nation's largest retailers, including Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Wegmans, ShopRite, RiteAid and others.
Congratulation to IVC, and thanks for its long-time supporting for CGCC.
