Thanks to CGCC Member ZTE for New Years Celebration at Knicks NBA Game
Tuesday, December 2, 2014 -- China General Chamber of Commerce - U.S.A. staff and friends went to the December 2nd, 2014 NBA between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
CGCC member company ZTE, the fourth largest Smartphone manufacturer in the United States, became the official sponsor of the New York Knicks on October 27, 2014. After a year of successful sponsorship of the Houston Rockets NBA team, ZTE decided to expand its sponsorship with two more NBA teams for the 2014-2015 NBA season -- the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors. As part of the partnership, ZTE will increase its commitment to local communities by supporting charitable initiatives such as the Rocket’s Season of Giving, the Knick’s Garden of Dreams, and the Warriors Community Phone Drive, where fans are encouraged to bring their old phones to donate to the Warriors’ charity benefiting under served youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.
"ZTE and the Knicks share many common goals, whether it's the Knicks winning on the court or ZTE becoming a preferred smartphone," Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA, said during a news conference in New York.
"Our new partnership advances the mission to serve the community where we live and work, to grow ZTE's brand-awareness and to deliver affordable devices for Knicks fans. And we are both competing to win."
Cheng said the National Basketball Association is a good partner for ZTE because of the sport's global outreach, which gives the two sides "a lot of possibilities to work together".
