China General Chamber of Commerce – Washington D.C. Chapter (CGCC-D.C.) elected China Telecom (Americas) Corporation President Xu Tan as its new Chairman. China Council for the Promotion of International Trade’s US Representative Zhenge Zhao, Tasly Pharmaceuticals North America President Henry Sun, and China Unicom (Americas) President Tong Zhang were elected Vice-Chairmen.

CGCC-D.C. held its 2019 Annual Meeting and Board Election on May 17th in Washington D.C. The candidates were nominated through a month-long process in accordance with CGCC-D.C. By-Law. Minister Hong Zhu from the Chinese Embassy’s Counselor’s Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs attended the meeting and gave remarks. He shared with the participants the latest status on the China-U.S. trade negotiation and acknowledged the contributions from CGCC-D.C.in serving Chinese enterprises and pushing for China-U.S. economic cooperation. CGCC-USA also sent representatives to observe and verify
the election.

Previously, Chairman Tan was a Vice-Chairman and Acting Chairman of CGCC-D.C. Currently, he also serves as an Executive Board Member and Vice-Chairman of CGCC-USA, and the Chairman of CGCC-USA’s By-Law Amendment Committee.
