East West Bank recognized with top rankings from Bank Director

East West Bank topped Bank Director’s ranking of the Best Board of Directors in their 2022 Ranking Banking study, due to the diversity and expertise found in its boardroom, as well as its strong corporate governance practices. Earlier this year, East West Bancorp also was recognized as the No. 1 Performing Bank in the $50 billion and above asset category, in Bank Director’s 2021 Bank Performance Scorecard.

East West Bank associates participate in WalkUnitedLA to benefit underserved communities

More than 400 East West Bank associates participated in WalkUnitedLA (formerly known as HomeWalk) to raise awareness and funds to address the most critical social issues in Los Angeles, including housing insecurity and homelessness, education, and economic mobility. As a long-term partner of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, East West has participated in this annual event for 14 years, underscoring the bank’s commitment to support and uplift the communities that we serve.

East West Bank is named “Community Investment Champion of the Year” by the Los Angeles Business Journal

In 2021, East West Bank was recognized as “Community Investment Champion of the Year” at the Los Angeles Business Journal’s International Business Forum and Awards for our longstanding commitment to uplifting the communities we serve. Since the bank’s founding in 1973, our community reinvestment philosophy has centered on three key areas: quality of life, small business lending, and financial education. Throughout the years, we have continued to explore new and innovative ways to address and make a positive impact in these areas. Most recently, our associates worked with the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to build supportive housing for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

“The Oscars Experience” presented by East West Bank debuts in the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

In September, the highly anticipated Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opened its doors to the public. The largest institution in the U.S. dedicated to the art, science, and history of filmmaking, the Renzo Piano-designed Museum houses many immersive exhibitions, including “The Oscars Experience” in the East West Bank Gallery. Visitors can enjoy a simulation of what it’s like to accept the coveted Oscar. In addition to sponsoring the Gallery, East West Bank’s CEO Dominic Ng is part of the Museum’s Board of Trustees and the Exhibition and Collection Committee to increase Asian-American representation and inclusion in Hollywood.
