James Shih is the Group Vice President, Global Projects for SEMCORP Advanced Materials Group. SEMCORP, formally Yunnan Energy New Material Co. Ltd. (云南恩捷新材料股份有限公司), is a publicly listed, USD$27 billion company specializing in the development, manufacture and sale of advanced materials. It is the world’s largest supplier of lithium-ion battery separator film and is a key partner of Chinese and global manufacturers of electric vehicles and batteries. James leads the company’s overseas expansion and M&A efforts, including large greenfield investments in Europe and the United States and collaborations with international partners. Before SEMCORP, James was a litigation attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, specializing in government enforcement and commercial litigation matters in the automotive, chemical and finance sectors. James graduated from Northwestern University and Yale Law School.
