Mengze (Paul) Liu is General Manager of COFCO Food Import Company. He served as president of COFCO (USA) Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of COFCO Corporation, from 2009 to 2016. Mr. Liu worked for COFCO International in Canada and Europe as regional head and Chief Risk Officer between 2016 and 2018. COFCO International is COFCO Corporation’s platform for international grain business. Mr. Liu was vice general manager of COFCO oilseeds processing division from 2004 to 2009, where he was responsible for procurement of feedstock for COFCO’s oilseed processing plants. Between 1999 and 2004, he was assigned by COFCO to work in Hong Kong as managing director of China Foods Trading Ltd, a COFCO subsidiary in Hong Kong for trading of agricultural commodities. Mr. Liu joined COFCO in 1994 as a corn trader in China National Maize Export Company, a joint venture of COFCO and other major corn-growing provinces in China. He graduated from University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing China in 1985 with Bachelor degree and in 2002 MBA from University of South Australia. He is married and has a daughter graduated from law school in the UK.
