Mr. Xu (“Leo”) LIU is a Senior Advisor with Global Strategic Associates, LLC (GSA). Before joining GSA, Mr. Liu, who is an American Citizen, and has lived with his wife and two children for nearly 20 years in New York, served as a Managing Director and the CFO of Anbang (Dajia) Insurance Group U.S. and a Board Director of Strategic Hotels & Resorts. He participated in several international multi-billion dollar M&A transactions and managed real estate portfolio assets. He was also a Board Director of the China General Chamber of Commerce (US). Prior to Anbang, Mr. Liu was the Treasurer and Head of Trading at Bank of China, U.S., and managed about US$80 billion of the balance sheet and the global trading desk. Before moving to New York in 2001, Mr. Liu held various positions with Bank of China as an FX trader and fixed income portfolio manager based in Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo. In 2000, he worked for Brown & Shipley, a boutique private bank in London as part of a program sponsored by the British Council. Mr. Liu is a highly motivated multi-lingual financial executive offering 20+ years of experience and leadership in capital markets, cross border M&A and real estate transactions, combined with broad corporate treasury and risk management expertise. Mr. Liu holds a BA in International Economics from Peking University and an MS in Financial Engineering from New York University – Polytechnic Institute. He is a GARP certified Financial Risk Manager and a member of Tau Beta Pi-The Honor Engineering Society. Mr. Liu also holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 registration.
