About the Event:
Throughout the past four years, Congress has become extremely active in America’s policies towards China and Chinese companies. According to a report published last September by the Center for Strategic and International Relations (CSIS), there were at least 366 bills with China-related content that were introduced since the beginning of the 116th congress in January 2019 (not including another 75 non-binding resolutions).
What is the role of Congress in formulating trade policy? How is trade legislation formed, and how has it changed over the years for each party? What recent laws regarding Chinese companies in the U.S. have been passed? What will be the main trade priorities of the Biden Administration this year? CGCC is honored to work with the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC) to invite two former members of Congress, the Hon. Mike Bishop and the Hon. Al Wynn to speak with CGCC members on these topics.
