Recent news reports have drawn the conclusion that President Trump’s administration is stirring up anti-China sentiment as a means to distract from both its handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide protests against deeply entrenched racism and violence. As the complexity of U.S.-China relations remains the top systematic challenge for Chinese investments when it comes to conducting business in the U.S., cultural differences between the two countries, however, emerged as one of the top challenges lately. CGCC 2020 Annual Business Survey Report indicates that over 50% of surveyed companies were adversely impacted by the anti-China rhetoric and fallout between the two countries during the coronavirus pandemic.
Looking past the growing concerns of PR fraying between the two countries, the recent developments of policies towards China serve as a reminder that a global new normal will likely feature a U.S.-China rivalry even more intense than the one that came before. As the commercial environment in the U.S. and around the world continue to evolve at a blazing pace, it is crucial to ascertain how the Chinese businesses would adapt, innovate, survive – and even thrive – through this uncertain time.
Please join us for an insightful conversation with prominent members of the U.S.-China business community who will speak to the latest issues in the U.S.- China relationship with a focus on the impact of recent policies and public opinions on Chinese companies in the U.S. Panel guests will also share their perspectives on the U.S. investment environment, the upcoming U.S. presidential cycle and their respective impacts on foreign investment, business retention and expansion, as well as business management.
