CGCC Supports Forbes’ 6th U.S.-China Business Forum 

On August 27, 2024, China General Chamber of Commerce – U.S.A. (CGCC) supported Forbes China’s 6th U.S.-China Business Forum in New York City The event brought together nearly 120 experts and key executives from both nations to discuss the macroeconomic environment and industrial development trends affecting U.S.-China economic and trade relations.

Feng Xie, China’s ambassador to the United States opened the event with a video address. Ambassador Xie emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral communication between China and the United States, stating that “cooperation benefits both sides, and conflict harms both.” He underscored that mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation are the proper paths forward for the two major powers. 

Wei Hu, Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce-USA and President and CEO of Bank of China U.S.A., also delivered remarks, noting that the CGCC is approaching its 20th anniversary. He reflected on the past two decades as a period of growth, mutual learning, and cooperation between the two countries. Hu stressed that U.S.-China cooperation extends beyond economic and trade matters, saying it also involves “shaping the future, jointly setting standards, and exploring the boundaries of development”.

The forum featured additional speakers from the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the U.S.-China Business Council, the American Chamber of Commerce in China, the Asia Society, and East West Bank.
