CGCC and EY Successfully Co-hosted Gotion NY Summit  

New York, July 15, 2024, China General Chamber of Commerce, U.S.A. (“CGCC”) and EY successfully co-hosted the EY – Gotion NY Summit. The summit aimed to share the latest investment trends in the United States, fulfill industry information gaps, and foster business cooperation opportunities for member companies. More than 60 members and delegates from CGCC member companies attended the event, which featured discussions on strategies for handling rising tariffs, the development of the new energy industry in the U.S., and cross-border communication matters. 

Shau ZHANG, EY US Partner and Americas China Overseas Investment Network (COIN) Leader delivered a welcome speech at the event where she reviewed the history of Chinese companies investing in the United States and expressed gratitude for the Chamber’s support of the summit.

Ning YUAN, Vice Chair of CGCC and Chairman of China Construction America gave opening remarks at the event. He introduced the Chamber’s role in helping member companies grow and develop, emphasizing its mission to build a bridge for U.S.-China economic and trade cooperation.

EY Geostrategic Business Group US Geostrategy Lead, Adam L Barbina; Managing Director of EY Global Trade Helen XIAO, Managing Director of EY Americas & Global eMobility Leader Mark Cotelli and Managing Director in People Advisory Services at EY Annie LI gave in-depth analyses of the current U.S. industrial environment, the latest U.S. tariff policies, management of expatriate talent, and cross-border mobility of talent.   

Amy LEI, Board Director of CGCC and Vice President of Fuyao Group North America, shared her unique insights into “exploration, integration, and development” in the transnational management of Chinese enterprises, particularly in navigating cultural differences between China and the United States. She emphasized the positive impact of actively fulfilling corporate social responsibilities.
